How To Choose The Right Oi Bell Size

1. Choose the position on your handlebar where you want your Oi Bell.

* Many handlebars are thicker in the middle and thinner near the grips. Pick the most convenient spot.

2. Measure the Diameter at the position you've chosen

Use one of the following methods:

  • Use a ruler or calliper to measure the diameter directly
  • Use a flexible tape to measure the circumference, then divide by 3.14 to get the diameter

* Measure in millimetres (mm) for accuracy. More instructions below.

3. Match your Measurement to the Bell Size

  • Small Oi Bell → fits handlebars 22.2 mm in diameter only
  • Large Oi Bell → fits handlebars from 23.8 mm to 31.8 mm

MEASURING BAR DIAMETER

Measuring your handlebar diameter is easy, and can be done using household items if you don't have digital callipers.

Here's how:

GENERAL SIZE GUIDELINES

Most of the time the handlebar diameter you'll be mounting the Oi Bell to will be 22.2, 25.4 or 31.8mm and can generally be separated in to the below categories.

Drop bars generally come in two clamp sizes 26mm (older style) and the newer ‘oversized’ 31.8mm. The area where you attach the Oi bell will most likely be either 25.4mm or 31.8mm (i.e. a Large Oi Bell).

Handlebars generally come in two clamp sizes 25.4mm (older style) and the newer ‘oversized’ 31.8mm. On some bars there will be a bulge in the middle and the bars will thin out towards the grip.

If you want to attach your bell near the grip, then please make sure you measure it, as it could mean you move from a large to a small sized bell. For instance the grip area on some of these bars will be 22.2mm, whereas the bulge is 31.8mm.

Handlebar sizes vary due to the wide variety of styles. We recommend you measure the bar at the position you'd like to mount your Oi Bell to be sure.

Almost always 22.2mm.
